Mariko Ross

Mariko Ross has been playing saxophone for 14 years and teaching privately for 10 years. She holds a Masters of Music in Saxophone Performance from the University of Oregon,   where she studied with Dr. Idit Shner and Steve Owen,   and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from California State University,   East Bay where she studied with Daniel Zinn.   While at the University of Oregon,  Mariko was the Graduate Teaching Fellow for the UO Saxophone Studio (2007-2009) and received the Outstanding Graduate Performer in Woodwinds Award in 2009.   She also performed regularly with the Oregon Jazz Ensemble,  Eugene Contemporary Chamber Ensemble and the Ross Saxophone Quartet,  which competed in the prestigious Coleman Chamber Ensemble Competition and the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in the spring of 2009.

Mariko currently teaches saxophone lessons out of her private home studio and at Kline Music in Sacramento.   She welcomes students of all ages and skill levels to take classical or jazz saxophone lessons, and can be reached at: mross510@hotmail.com
