I Began playing Trombone in 1957 at age 11. I attended The University Of Miami courtesy of a
Henry Fillmore Band scholarship while majoring in Zoology/Marine Biology. I continued graduate
studies at CSUS until service in the USAF interrupted my studies. Returning to Ca. I completed
degrees in biology/marine science as well as art/photography and spending 25 years as a Clinical
Laboratory Scientist before again unpacking my trombone. Besides occupying my retirement
performing in three bands, I also find time for photography, creating computer art, attending
to a greenhouse populated with several hundred species of exotic orchids and amassing a CD
collection containing over 500 discs of symphonic band music alone. (Did you realize that
there have been over 210 original symphonies written specifically for the Symphonic band?)
